OYP URGES TO PROSECUTE WRONGDOERS

Arthur Baghdasaryan, the leader of the Orinats Yerkir Party, voted at polling station 28 of electoral district 10 at 10 o’clock, May 12. He showed up at the polls with his wife and answered reporters’ questions after voting. He stated that on the day of the voting the Orinats Yerkir Party sustains contact with observers, media and other parties. The party follows the conduct of the election through its 6000 proxies. Saying that no major incidents were reported by 10 o’clock, Arthur Baghdasaryan only mentioned the report from Shamakhyan Community, Dilijan, about the used seal and the missing 100 ballots.

With regard to election bribes, the OYP leader called on the law enforcement agencies to prosecute people who had distributed election bribes up to the eve of the election, for according to the Armenian legislation, it is a crime.

The party will issue a political statement after the voting and ballot counting. The party will make a statement on its further actions depending on the legitimacy of the election. Arthur Baghdasaryan said their party is observing the election and is hopeful that that the voting will be quiet. Arthur Baghdasaryan said if the election is free and fair, the Orinats Yerkir Party will get considerable presence in the National Assembly.
