NA SPEAKER IS CONCERNED WITH CRIME-GENERATING SITUATION
Support A1+!Today the eighth session of the NA third calling was convened with the participation of 112 deputies. It seems nothing changed during the holidays. Only Viktor Dallakyan and Tatul Manaseryan changed their places.
Mr. Manaseryan joined Emma Khudabashyan’s group (Emma Khudabashyan’s formerly “led” free deputies) whereas Viktor Dallakyan gave the place of the secretary of the “Justice” faction, beside Stepan Demirchyan, to Grigor Haroutyunyan. There were no other significant changes; the deputies pressed the buttons of the absent deputies with great enthusiasm and held the voting.
The agenda of the 4 – day session was not discussed and approved at the first session because of the questions and speeches of the Opposition deputies.
Viktor Dallakyan, Tatul Manaseryan, Hmayak Hovhannesyan and Grigor Haroutyunyan demanded to set up a committee dealing with the ups and downs of dollar-dram rates, to invite the president of the Central Bank and listen to his account, to set up ad-hoc committee dealing with the aviation issues, to invite Alexan Haroutyunyan, president of the National TV and Radio Company and listen to the 2005 account.
Almost all the deputies from the Opposition spoke of the criminal situation in the country which is becoming worse and worse. They all asked to invite the chief of the Police to the parliament to comment on it. Hmayak Hovhanessyan claims that the money is the root of all evil and he suggested writing the following words at the bottom of the state emblem, “Money is everything, whereas man is nothing.”
Tigran Torosyan, NA Speaker, agrees with the general criminal picture reigning in the country and says that Hovannesyan’s suggestion may not be accepted as the bill on the emblem has been passed recently.
