PARUYR HAYRIKYAN WAS PRAISED
Support A1+!The Union for National Self-Determination has always been ideologically friendly with the ARF, member of Dashnaktutyun Vahan Hovhannisyan said in the UNSD conference. He added that the UNSD is one of those organizations the existence of which proves the simple truth that an organization without ideological basis is doomed to destruction.
Leader of the National Unity Artashes Geghamyan aid that it is an honor to him to participate in the conference. He considers Paruyr Hayrikyan a unique figure of the political field who spent 15 years in prison and turned theory into practice.
NA deputy Hmayak Hovhannisyan found the role of Paruyr Hayrikyan in the Parliament important. Lead of the United Labor Party Gourgen Arsenyan agreed with him. And head of the Armenian Aryan Union Armen Avetisyan concluded saying that if those who made speech want Hayrikyan's presence in the Parliament let them create the corresponding conditions. And first Ombudsman of the country Larissa Alaverdyan thinks that the first Defender of Human Rights in Armenia has always been Paruyr Hayrikyan.
After the speeches Paruyr Hayrikyan spoke too. He referred to the new Constitution mentioning its advantages and disadvantages. He considers the provision of dual citizenship a positive one, but he thinks that democracy has been reduced. He also refused to accept the negotiations about the price of gas. The leader of the UNSD also referred to the Mesropian orthography saying that his party has been left alone in this issue.
130 deputies from Armenia and two from NKR were present at the conference.
By the way, today the UNSD was also celebrating the 40th anniversary of the party.
