“TRULY ELECTED PRESIDENT”IN GYUMRI
Support A1+!Today the Justice bloc and the National Renaissance party organized the following meeting with the electors opposite the Gyumri Acharyan Theater. Stepan Demirchayn was greeted by the residents of the city with calls “Here comes the truly elected President” and applause.
The meeting was opened by the head of the Gyumri regional organization of the National Renaissance party Hounan Mazmanyan.
After that member of the People’s Party Grigor Haroutyunyan was given floor. He referred to the President’s immunity and the change of borders connecting these two provisions. And as a resident of Meghri he announced, “With a flick of a finger they will sell Meghri to the Turks and remain free of any guilt”.
Secretary of the People’s Party Stepan Zaqaryan warned the residents of Gyumri that the amendments have great danger in them and that’s why they must not go to the false referendum.
As we learned from the participants, the majority of them was not acquainted with the draft, and if they wanted to go to the referendum, only in orders to say “No” to the authorities.
Viktor Dallakyan voiced hope that the residents of Gyumri will boycott the referendum on November 27.
Leader of the National Renaissance party Albert Bazeyan called attention to the fact that the provision of organizing marches was included in the previous Constitution but in the amended version only the word “Meetings” is mentioned. This too was qualified as a violation of human rights.
As for Stepan Demirchyan, he only made a concluding speech. He called on the people to keep their dignity and not to participate in the referendum.
By the way, the meeting was held on the background of the “Yes” poster. They were pinned to the walls of the theater opposite which the meeting was held.
