HARMONIOUS WITH EUROPE
Support A1+!November 18 in Saint Petersburg the CIS inter governmental Congress convened its 26th plenary session.
President of the Congress Sergey Mironov mentioned that all the countries are concerned with the fate of CIS as they fully understand the power and the efficiency of the economic and political alliance.
Representing the results of the 15-year activity of the Armenian Parliament, RA NA President Arthur Baghdasaryan said, “It is obvious that the activity of the RA Parliament is extremely efficient, as 1 343 laws have been adopted for the last 15 years.
The main aim of the present Parliament is to make the legislation of the country harmonious with the European standards, to create a judicial field and to regulate the relations in order to create a civic society. Proceeding from this we can speak about such tendencies of development of parliamentarism as the real striving for European integration and democratic values. We make steps to create a Parliament open to the society, one which strives for public agreements and not inter political confrontation. The Parliament is not a closed club of elite; it is the political institute of authorities which can be considered the model of the society”.
Arthur Baghdasaryan also spoke about the Constitutional amendments, «Today Armenia is on the eve of the Constitutional referendum. With the adoption of the new Constitution changes will also be introduced into the structure of the Parliament the deputies of which clearly realize their responsibility for the formation of the civic society and the future democratization of Armenia».
By the way, during the CIS inter governmental Congress convened its 26th plenary session RA NA deputies Gourgen Arsenyan and Gagik Minasyan were awarded the Medal for Cooperation for effective work.
