TERRY DAVIS STARTS HIS TWO-DAY VISIT TO ARMENIA AND NAGORNO KARABAKH REPUBLIC

PACE Rapporteur on Nagorno Karabakh Terry Davis is to arrive in Yerevan on Monday. On the very same day, he will head to Stepanakert, Nagorno Karabakh Republic’s capital, where he is set to meet with Karabakhi leadership.

A series of meetings with Armenian senior officials including President Robert Kocharyan, Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan and Deputy Foreign Minister Tatul Margaryan are scheduled for Tuesday. Meetings with Armenian National Assembly’s members are also scheduled for the same day.

Terry Davis’ will tour Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh as part of his regional visit. Upon returning and summing up the situation he will deliver a report at PACE special session. Davis had been taken his appointment yet in 2002. In April, 2003, he toured the region for the first time after his appointment. The second visit had been postponed many times because of presidential and parliamentary elections held in Armenia, then in Azerbaijan.
