The Yezidi language in Hatsik village of Shirak province is preserved thanks to grandparents. They are the ones who communicate with their grandchildren in their native language. There are seven Yezidi pupils in Hatsik’s school, which has about 100 students, but Yezidi language is not taught at the school. There is no lesson, textbook, lecturer of this language. When writing an essay entitled "My Native Language," everyone is writing about Armenian.
