Levon Aronian and Hrant Melkumyan slow down pace

The 5th round of the Grand Chess Tournament with the participation of 80 Grandmasters, took place on the island of Man. Two Armenian delegates, Levon Aronian and Hrant Melkumyan played draws in this round. They have 3.5 points each and now they are sharing the 12th-38th places. The tournament table is led by four chess players who have scored 4,5 points each. American-Armenian GM Samuel Sevian lost to world champion Sergey Karyakin in this round and was left with 3 points. Our compatriot Krikor-Sevag Mkhitarian, who represents Brazil, drew with German representative and became equal to his 18-year-old compatriot.   Today, the matches of the 6th round will take place. Levon Aronian will compete with Indian grandmaster and Hrant Melkumyan's opponent is Russian representative.
