Minister of Agriculture: Solely apricots were exported by 87% more (video)
As of August 1, Armenia's apricot exports have increased compared to the previous year, Agriculture Minister Artur Khachatryan told a news conference today. He also mentioned that last year 28,884 tons of apricots and this year already 50,000 tons of apricots were exported. "As of yesterday, solely apricots were exported by 87% more. The season is about to end, mostly the apricots stored in the refrigerators are exported. 120,000 tons of fruits and vegetables were exported in 2017, and 100,000 tons were exported only in seven months of this year," the minister added. Artur Khachatryan also mentioned that if irrigation water does not create problems, it is a good year from the agriculture's point of view.
