Journalists cannot enter Government building (video)

Today, government sessions were closed-door.  The RA Law "On the Government's Structure and Activities" came into force on April 9. Journalists have the right to cover only the briefings that will take place in the press hall. Journalists are curious about why they have limited access to the Government building. "We, the journalists, have proved for years that we are harmless and cannot be considered equal to protesting people. The journalist has come early, what should he do, just stand outside? But why he cannot sit inside and wait until the briefing begins? Journalist is accredited and this accreditation must have the power," said Jasmen Vilyan, an economic commentator for the Irates newspaper. During 2007-2008, when the Prime Minister was Serzh Sargsyan, the sessions were closed-door. In 2008, after Tigran Sargsyan's nomination as Prime Minister, government sessions became public. Today, ministers refused to answer any question before the Executive Body session. While the closed-door session of the executive body was underway, mothers of those killed in peace in the army demanded to punish the actual people who are responsible for the deaths of their sons. They do not believe that the new PM can disclose the reality. "Serzh Sargsyan came to us behind the bars and made promises that yes, all the cases would be revealed, I want them to be revealed the most, and nothing has been done so far. Moreover, when we were at Baghramyan 26, we demanded that you promised, and need to fulfill your promise, and the violence against us has been applied. As a result, our health has deteriorated, we have been given a slow death, our children have been murdered and we are slaughtered slowly," said Nana Muradyan. "There is a malignant tumor in the system, until it is not destroyed, it cannot be removed. I have been standing for  for 11 years, the murderers are next to them," added Gohar Sargsyan. Former employees of Nairit plant demand re-start of the plant and pay penalties for late wages. "If they give our money now, it's about 12 million, and all our familty members together are 12 million," said Mushelyan. Nairit residents do not have expectations from Serzh Sargsyan, if he will be appointed prime minister. Today, none of the officials came to protesting citizens.
