Tsaghkadzor Open chess tournament kicks off
From November 23 to December 1, Tsakhkadzor Open International Chess Tournament will be held in Tsakhkadzor, which will have A and B groups. Group A includes 69 chess players and Group B includes 86 players. Representatives of 17 countries, including 23 international Grandmasters and as well as international masters will take part in the tournament. On November 22, the opening ceremony was held which was dedicated to the memory of international Grandmaster and Armenia's eight-time champion Ashot Anastasyan. 200 chess players from 14 countries participated in this tournament. Armenian representative Arman Pashikyan scored 9 points out of 11 possible and won the tournament. Three more chess players had the same number of points. Elina Danielian (7 points, 33rd place), from the Armenian team, showed the best result. The first round will take place today.
