The ruined Armenian Church of St. Tovma, located in the village of Altensach in the Gewash region (Vostan-EN), Vana, is now used as a cattle-shed. At the 400-meter high near Lake Van, in a church built in the twentieth or eleventh century are the relics of the apostle Tovma. After the reconstruction of the church in 1671, it was transformed into the patrolar complex. Today, the church is in danger of collapsing. Journalist-reviewer of the Turkish informational site "Gazetekarınca.com" Ikram İşler, wrote about his impressions after visiting the church: "There was no religion once. There were the Apostles of Christ. Spiritual music could be heard, and liturgies were given. And now the time has come when the church is used as a cattle-shed." Details are available here
