Discussion on new Silk Road project with the Chinese
Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan received Tian Erlin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China, and Lixin Xiong, Vice-President of Sinohydro Company involved in the North-South Road Construction Project. Karen Karapetyan attached importance to the continuous development of the Armenian-Chinese economic relations and underlined that the Armenian government is interested in attracting Chinese capital to the Armenian market. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the two countries have great potential for mutually beneficial cooperation. For his part, Ambassador Tian Erlin noted that China also attaches importance to the strengthening of mutually beneficial ties with Armenia and underlined that today there are wide opportunities to finance the most important programs of mutual interest. At the meeting other issues related to Armenia's possible inclusion in the "Silk Road" program and the Armenian-Chinese relations were also discussed.
