Armenian Ombudsman receives OSCE representative on Freedom of Media
Today Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan received a delegation led by OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Harlem Désir. During the meeting they discussed the state of freedom of speech in Armenia, issues related to media activities, and the protection of journalists' rights. Arman Tatoyan emphasized the importance of freedom of speech and the role of journalists in raising public awareness. During the meeting, the new functions attributed to the Ombudsman by the constitutional law “On Human Rights Defender” were also discussed. The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media also reached an agreement to cooperate.
