Railroad lines leading to Armenian NPP repaired
South Caucasus Railways CJSC specialists completed the reconstruction of the Armavir-Arshaluys railway section leading to the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant. The railway lines had not been used since 2011. The reconstructions, that were hold by 33 people, started in July. As a result, 14km railway and 3.9000 spools have been recovered. The work was carried out using special railway equipment. The repair process was supervised by the special commission headed bySergey Valkoy, General Director of "SCR" CJSC. The reconstructed section has already checked the special measuring carriage; the infrastructure is ready to accept the loads. Thus, the company has completed the modernization of its subordinate infrastructure, and the railway lines passing through the Nuclear Power Plant repair the NPP contractor. SCR CJSC is a subsidiary of Russian Railways and carries out concession management of the railway system of Armenia. According to the agreement signed on February 13, 2008, the concession management period is 30 years, with the right of prolongation for another 10 years by agreement between the parties.
