Vahram Baghdasaryan reminds the story of dangerous doorways (video)
During the parliamentary debates on the government program for the next five years, Vice-Speaker of the National Assembly from the Tsarukyan alliance Mikael Melkumyan announced that the authorities must be responsible for their words, especially in view of economic growth. Why cannot you work with the opposition? You have discussed only a small part of the projects we had submitted. You did not ensure the indexes you promised and now you are presenting a new program. I call on you to return to businessman the VAT in the amount of AMD 20 billion levied for the border in the past five years. Head of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Vahram Baghdasaryan stated his speech addressing the oppoistion. “You made more objective statements yesterday.” Do not worship a person. Do you want me to give names, for example, that of the prime minister? We should not rely on an individual but on the political line. I have the impression that many MPs have not even read the program. Mr Prime Minister, do you know whether the Civil Contract and Bright Armenia will be in the same Yelk alliance in 2018? Or will they have the same fate as the Heritage party? Dear colleagues from the opposition, try to think about cooperation with us, maybe we will view one of you as a candidate for PM… Now I would like to cite the words of the late politician Vahan Hovhannisyan and remind the story of dangerous doorways when newcomers made fun of the government program.” His words angered Nikol Pashinyan who began speaking from his place. “Nikol, I am not speaking about you, young man,” said Mr Baghdasaryan. “You are speaking about electoral fraud now. Why didn't you apply to the Constitutional Court to dispute the results of the elections? Only the Armenian National Congress did it. None of you exercised your constitutional right and now you have come to speak about electoral fraud and ask questions to the prime minister?” After his speech NA Speaker Ara Babloyan advised everyone to assess the path he had passed. Nikol Pashinyan began to applaud.
