FM: Estonia is interested to see the rapid completion of the process
Estonian Foreign Minister Sven Mikser is in Armenia at the invitation of his Armenian counterpart, Edward Nalbandian. Estonia will assume the presidency of the EU Council in the second half of 2017. Visa liberalisation for Armenian citizens is possible to happen after that. “I think that the free movement of people is an important aspect in bringing countries and nations closer. I would like to see the process facilitated between the EU and Armenia. Estonia is interested to see the rapid completion of the process, but I cannot mention dates.” Sven Mikser said that the next Eastern Partnership Summit would take place in Brussels in November and expressed hope that the new EU-Armenia agreement will be signed at that time. In view of Armenia-Estonia relations, the FMs said that there is unused potential in economic and trade relations. “We can do more than we have done up to now.”
