Representatives of the Congress-HZhK alliance today visited Victory Park on the occasion of the May Triple holiday. Members of the alliance laid flowers and a wreath at the Eternal Flame. Armenia’s first President and leader of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Levon Ter-Petrosyan, was not with the group. Vice-Chairman of the HAK Levon Zurabyan said ‘this is a great and serious holiday for all Armenians.’ "Congratulating one another, we should not forget that perseverance, principality, determination and devotion to our people, our principles and faith are essential for achieving victory in any matter, especially in national issues." The authorities have recently expressed their regret that the HAK did not take seats in the new National Assembly. Levon Zurabyan considers the authorities’ statements to be crocodile tears. “They are very pleased and happy. That was the meaning and pupose of their life. They did not want the HAK to be represented in the parliament and they have achieved their goal and they did it through electoral fraud. I do not think that we have lost; this is not really a defeat. Let us compete in fair elections and see the outcome. And this day will come when we shall compete in fair elections and crash them all,’ he said. Speaking about their future plans, Mr Zurabyan said their agenda remains the same and they will achieve their aim. “We will not allow our people to be buried in corruption, when all the principles of justice are violated, when people have lost faith in state institutions and leave the country in utter despair.”
