Turkish airstrikes hit Iraq's Sinjar region predominantly inhabited by Yazidis

The Turkish air forces bombed Iraq's Sinjar region overnight, targeting the bases of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), says expert on Iranian Studies Vardan Voskanyan. “I want to remind that Turkish warplanes did not even try to carry out airstrikes against Islamic State targets when this terrorist organization occupied Sinjar in 2014, massacring the Yazidi population of the area, and committing genocide there,” he said. The specialist says the information received about the bombings in Sinjar is very limited and he has no information about civilian deaths among the local Yazidis but should they receive such reports, Armenia must strictly condemn the attacks on the traditional homeland for the Yazidi people - Sinjar.
