HRD concerned about recording of SAS meeting
The Human Rights Defender Office examined in details the recording published in “Hayastan24” website, which is supposedly linked to the employees of SAS group at pre-election meeting. The displays of compulsion and threats in the recording are concerning, which are linked to the realization of citizens' voting rights and pressure on voters. In this sense, the Human Rights Defender stresses the importance of the statement by the Prosecutor General’s Office that the abovementioned recording was sent to the Special Investigation Service in order to check the circumstances existing in it. Detailed and accountable review must be ensured. Within the frames of criminal procedure, the defense of people present in the recording must be guaranteed. In order to rule out any violation concerning defense of those people, the Human Rights Defender within the frames of its powers will initiate relevant measures, ensuring confidentiality of the people, who will apply the HRD office on that issue.
