What issues will national minorities raise in National Assembly? (video)
Representatives of national minorities in Armenia are going to raise a wide range of issues in the National Assembly, Head of the Kurdish community of Armenia, Knyaz Hasanov, told a news conference today. "As representatives of national minorities, we will raise issues concerning our communities, including those related to education, culture, protection of individual rights, etc. Some of our villages do not have water,” he said. Chairman of the Assyrian Union "Atur" Arsen Mikhailov says he is going to raise ethnic, cultural, and religious issues in the National Assembly and participate in the discussion of all laws as a full-fledged citizen of the Republic of Armenia. Before becoming lawmakers, we worked with the Armenian government for many years and we were able to solve some cultural and educational issues. We are often asked whether we need to have a representative in the National Assembly to be able to address all those issues. Yes, I think that now we can have those issues reach the addressee more quickly and transparently,” he said.
