Yegishe Petrosyan: Satan's Wheel is broken down but we have bought the tickets (video)
“In the upcoming elections, we should exclude the principle of voting for someone based on nepotism-based tradition,” says Armenian lawmaker Lyova Khachatryan. Talking to journalists in Yerevan, he said the April elections will be fight for faith. “I agree that there is no ideological struggle, but I think there will be fight for faith, with forces trying to change the present with their teams, record economic growth and reduce the rates of migration,” the lawmaker said Lyova Khachatryan is concerned that district riff-raffs with the help of law enforcement agencies might interfere with the elections. Songwriter Yegishe Petrosyan, another participant of the news conference, said he does not see a political struggle; rather, it is a struggle for resources. “We all know that the Stan’s Wheel has broken down, but we have already bought tickets, we must ride in it and fall down once again. I also see that political forces are fighting for their ambitions; this is not a fight for the homeland for our future. I think this is a challenge to all those people who want to secure their place and businesses in the future. Should they fail to take their piece of cake on that day [Election Day], they will lose everything. Everybody is trying to save and preserve what they have acquired until now,” he said.
