Zaruhi Postanjyan says she will not join other forces
Armenian lawmaker Zaruhi Postanjyan says she is not going to join any other force to challenge the authorities in the upcoming elections. “With its mistakes and failures, successes and victories throughout the 25-year history of the Republic of Armenia, the Heritage Party has now stepped into a new phase. The year 2016 which preceded this new phase marked a turning point not only for the Armenian people (we saw the four-day war and revolt), but also disrupted the normal activity of the Heritage Party. Now, the party is to make an important decision and determine the format and content of its participation in the political process in 2017. While I refuse to participate in the political process called by my teammates ‘parliamentary elections’ in alliance with other forces, I announce that my decision is based on the main rule in politics: agreement of principles, program and ideology. I hope that the Heritage Patty will find the strength and wisdom to participate in the political process under its own name. Otherwise, I'm not going to join any other force,” Postanjyan said in statement issued on February 8. Vice-chairman of the Heritage Party, Armen Martirosyan, has announced that the party is holding negotiations with the Yelk alliance and the alliance led by former ministers Vartan Oskanian and Seyran Ohanyan.
