Armenia will find an alternative to Lars (video)
An instruction to hold discussions for finding an alternative to Lars road with Georgia and Russia has been just given. We will discuss and present, said Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Vahan Martirosyan after the Government session. The Minister stated that Armenia is trying to accelerate the discussions so that Russia and Georgia can come to an agreement. In reply to the question whether they refer to South Ossetia, the Minister answered, ‘Not only the option of South Ossetia is taken into consideration. We must consider all the options. The option approved during the discussions will be realistic.” Today at the Government session PM Karen Karapetyan instructed the Minister to carry out discussions with the Russia and Georgian sides in order to eliminate the limitations on transportation conditioned by weather conditions on Stepantsminda-Lars road section. Alternative options must be presented to the Government until March 1st.
