Karabakh: Azerbaijan violates ceasefire, employs mortars and sniper rifles
Azerbaijani armed forces continued to violate the ceasefire with Karabakh last night, firing in the southern (Hadrout), eastern (Martouni-Akna) ansd north-eastern (Martakert) directions of the frontline. More than 90 ceasefire violations by the Azerbaijani army were registered along the line of contact on the night of December 14. In the reporting period, Azeri troops fired 1900 shots from various caliber firearms, imcluding 56 from SVD and Istiglal sniper rifles. In addition to sniper rifles, the enemy also employed 60-mm mortars to fire 3 rounds at the defense posts of Martakert. The frontline units of the NKR Defense Army mostly refrained from responding to the provocative actions of the Azerbaijani side and took retaliatory measures only when necessary. The NKR armed forces continue controlling the situation along the entire perimeter of the line of contact.
