Changes expected in the leadership of HHK (video)
“Prime Minister is the member of the political bloc, which won the elections,” Hovhannes Sahakyan explains Karen Karapetyan’s becoming a Republican in this way, “If PM agreed to come and govern those reforms, he also represents the plans of this political team.” Hovhannes Sahakyan agrees with PM’s words, that creating a new political force would be senseless. He must have joined the Republican Party, as the Republican Party is the one to implement changes. “And first of all we should change ourselves, it means, the changes should be made inside,” he explains. In the upcoming congress of the Republican Party, according to Hovhannes Sahakyan, changes are expected even in the leadership. Serzh Sargsyan has also told about it; team must be changed, “And Karen Karapetyan must be among those, who will implement those changes.” But it is known that Karen Karapetyan was brought from Moscow for the reason that he wasn’t from the Republican Party; why did he decide to become a Republican, “He was brought as the reforms, which Serzh Sargsyan had spoken about, will be implemented by Karen Karapetyan.” By joining the Republican Party, Karen Karapetyan today has stated that he isn’t creating a new political force, as it could endanger Karabakh’s security, “He is explaining why he hasn’t established a new force; it doesn’t relate those, who create new forces.” Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Head Levon Zurabyan thinks that Prime Minister, on the contrary, by not establishing a new political force, subconsciously hinted that Republican Party is a detestable party for the people, “As if there wasn’t that context, there would be no need to say that; he should have said ‘yes, what’s the matter, the Republican is the force, which does everything right and I, naturally, join that force.” Still two months ago Levon Zurabyan had no illusions that it is possible to pin hopes on new PM. He told the people that the Republican swamp will swallow him, “A party, which has been engaged in plunder for 18 years, created this rotten, corrupted system, it cannot be changed whether to believe it or not.” Karen Karapetyan’s becoming a Republican shows that something will change in Armenia, if the whole political stronghold is changed; it means that with the support of the people new force comes to power.
