Entrepreneur: “We are like Russia’s slave”
In 9 months out of 21 entrepreneurs, who import washing-cleaning products, only 6 companies certified their products. This has been found out by the State Inspectorate for Market Surveillance of the RA Ministry of Economic Development and Investments. Yet, according to the EEU rules, companies engaged in importation and production of washing and cleaning means, must have a special certificate. One expertise of certification costs AMD 26 000. “There hasn’t been gross interference in any entrepreneur’s affairs, the main aim of this inspection is that consumers can use harmless products, so that no poisonous or dangerous product can penetrate into the market,” says Levon Khalikyan, Head of State Inspectorate for Market Surveillance. Entrepreneurs, however, complain, as these inspections and certification will bring many entrepreneurs to the verge of closure. “We are like a slave of Russia; Russia decides something, determines it, and we have to do it without taking into account the interests of our inner entrepreneurs,” says economist Yeghishe Soghomonyan, founder of “FINS” consulting company.
