“The officials, who build castles, must pay billions to the army” (video)
“It’s strange for us that the Government again tries to enter into the pocket of ordinary citizens,” Aram Sargsyan, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Armenia, told today in the interview with journalists, talking about “1000 drams” fund. “It is unclear, what these 1000 drams will give to the army. If the state needed it, then it had to admit that due to its incompetent policy, it asks money from the people. People are frustrated, because those, who have plundered the country, live in welfare, while these 1000 drams must be charged from the ordinary citizens, who receive AMD 60 000 salary. It is pharisaism, isn’t it? How do they build all these castles in the last 25 years? It is the result of inequality and unfairness, and that’s why the society reacted in this way,” he noted. The NA Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction member Hamlet Harutyunyan, who was also present in the press conference, assured that “1000 drams” fund will be the only fund in our country from which nobody will steal. “I agree that there are dishonest people in the army – from the section leader to generals. But we shouldn’t underestimate that sacred idea, taking into account all those facts, which are to some extent normal, as there are widespread throughout the world,” he noted, adding that the fund should demand billions from the officials, who have built castles. The speakers also touched upon 2017 parliamentary elections. According to Aram Sargsyan, the rating voting is not democratic: “The members of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) will rise against each other and the voting will be among them. That rating voting is like distributing money. Armenians, who have never considered themselves to be poor, today 70 percent confesses this fact. In this situation, it is obvious that they will tempt the people. Instead of 10 thousands, they will distribute 20 thousands.”
