Head of the Armenian National Congress (HAK), Levon Zurabyan, does not expect anything good from the corrupt government. “One can present the best program and then do the same misdeeds,” Zurabyan said after he asked to comment on the government program submitted on Wednesday. The HAK lawmaker does not hurry to assess the program which he has not read yet, though he says a program written in six months can only be ‘pre-election.’ “This very fact weakens the credibility of the program,” Zurabyan said. The Republicans do not approve of HAK’s attitude towards the government program. “Honestly speaking, the Armenian National Congress does not have any expectations even from its faction,” says Gagik Melikyan, Secretary of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK). He urges people not to give importance to HAK’s political attitude and reminds Serzh Sargsyan’s words who said they have great expectations from this program which, he thinks, will increase confidence in the government. “The questions and expressions used by opposition forces are inappropriate; we heard non-constructive criticism which formed an atmosphere of distrust,” he said. Now the opposition should help the government to implement the program, says the HHK lawmaker. At the same time, Mr. Melikyan reminds that they do not have a magic wand, and the economy is not the sector where the steps show their immediate effect. “We shall see slow, but positive results in six months.” The Republican lawmaker says there are perquisites that we shall have a national unity government. “I do not think that the opposition will try to facilitate economic growth with its constructive criticism,” he said. Anyway, he believes that the opposition also wants to see our economy recovered in six months.
