Tigran Urikhanyan to join another political team
Armenian lawmaker Tigran Urikhanyan has issued a statement saying he will not lay down his mandate as he announced earlier. In the statement, Urikhanyan said he had changed his decision after receiving numerous letters from citizens, seeing the reaction of his colleagues and necessity to continue protection of people's interests. “I have had a series of consultations with representatives and leaders of almost all parliamentary factions and I appreciate the support and goodwill of my colleagues. I would like to mention that the blows against me and my teammates did not have the desired effect. Those who hit ‘below the waist,’ use personal insults and offend family members and relatives, are treacherous and weak people and those who make use of these people simply hide behind their backs. I want to inform the authors of all these methods that I am going to continue my activity in parliament and come up with new legislative initiatives. I find it appropriate to join a large and popular political team which has great potential to make changes in our reality,” Urikhanyan said.
