Ashot Minasyan to replace Vitaly Balasanyan as mediator
Ashot Minasyan, Commander of the Sisian battalion, will replace Vitaly Balasanyan as a mediator between the Armenian government and anti-government gunmen occupying a police compound in Yerevan’s Erebuni district since July 17, Pavel Manukyan, one of the leaders of the armed group, told A1+. Manukyan said ‘Vitalik did not behave well during the talks, especially with journalists.’ He also said that the electricity supply to the seized police base remains cut off. Besides, there are no doctors in the area of the building. “They placed barricades, bought more technique but had to remove it after we got angry. They cannot only do Turkish-style things,” said the freedom fighter. In reply to our question who is to answer for the death of Colonel Artur Vanoyan if they manage to leave the seized police station without criminal charges, Mr. Manukyan said we are asking an absurd question. “The criminal regime will have to answer for his death,” he said adding that they will not leave the building unless… ‘We have not come to a pioneer camp," Mr. Manukyan said.
