Five hostages freed until now - NSS
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) says five people have been released since the armed attack on patrol police regiment headquarters in Yerevan early on Sunday. The NSS says they are taking measures to free the other four people kept hostage at the Erebuni police station and put an end to the standoff between the security forces and the armed people occupying the police building since July 17. The NSS declares once again that the measures being taken are special and highly professional, therefore, ‘we do not need unauthorized interference or assistance.’ The special forces of the Armenian law-enforcement agencies remain in the state of combat readiness, but there are no preconditions for intensive actions at this point.
