Neither Sefilyan nor his associates analyzed the situation well enough, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Armen Navasardyan said during a press conference at Armenpress. He says people can be disappointed and frustrated, but this should not lead to terrorism, because ‘it is not typical of Armenians.’ We say that Armenia is a Christian country with Christian values and an integral part of Eastern culture. And now we are witnessing a terror attack. Of course, it will leave a negative impression about us,” Mr Navasardyan said. “Now they are waiting for the continuation of the attack, which will result in new victims, but where are people? Why didn’t they take to the street? People engaged in politics should measure 10 times and cut once,” he added. Armen Navasardyan sees both ‘personal and national motives behind the terror attack.’ “There are external forces that can make use of the internal instability in Armenia. Azerbaijan can also resume hostilities. We are still at war, and Sefilyan was to think about the security of Armenia,” he said. Navasardyan believes that the authorities will make correct calculations and give an adequate response to the attackers but he declines to say what exactly they will do.
