Istanbul Police Chief Mustafa Caliskan has ordered to shoot down of any helicopters flying over the city without warning. Turkey's state-run news agency says 1,800 special forces police officers have arrived in Istanbul from neighboring provinces. Anadolu Agency reports that the officers have taken up positions in critical facilities and are patrolling the city after the attempted military coup of last week. This comes as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered F-16s fighter jets to patrol Turkish airspace nationwide, according to Anadolu. The situation continues to remain tense in the country.
