Sharmazanov: “Slaughter of was of the same handwriting as Sumgait and Baku Armenians’ massacres”
On July 7, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov received the leaders of the Congress of Refugees from Azerbaijan SSR Mariam Avagyan, Alexander Grigoryan, Yuri Baghdasaryan and Martin Israyelyan. Eduard Sharmazanov highlighted the guests’ visit to the parliament and noted that in this region the refugees’ problems emerged as a consequence of Azerbaijan’s genocidal and anti-Armenian policy. Assessing the bloody cases occurred in the region as a crime against the whole mankind, the NA Deputy Speaker stressed that even after several decades Azerbaijan’s handwriting has not been changed. “The slaughter of Talish’s peaceful residents was of the same handwriting as Sumgait and Baku Armenians’ massacres,” Eduard Sharmazanov noted. Thanking the NA Deputy Speaker for the meeting, the guests presented him the goals of the visit. The coordinator of the organisation Mariam Avagyan touched upon the problems of about 660.000 Armenian refugees from Azerbaijan SSR. In this context Mrs Avagyan highlighted the importance of raising the Armenian refugees’ problems at international different platforms, and talked about the return of the internally displaced. At the end of the meeting the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov expressed readiness for the further cooperation with the leaders of the Congress of refugees from the Azerbaijan SSR.
