In the territory of Arzni airport a number of schoolchildren and students have tried out the unmanned aerial vehicles created by them. 10 teams took part in the final round of the competition. Arman Tumanyan, who presents “Ellips-GA” LLC, was taking part in the competition with a drone, which task was to automatically implement a flight, reach the target, throw a grenade and return to its initial position, “Our device has military significance, it can be sent farther than its receivers without our mediation. Though its engine works in up to 1.5 km distance, I can set it the way that it flies 10 km away, implements its task and returns to its initial position. At present we have prepared our device for throwing one grenade, but adding a few grenades isn’t a problem.” anoachu Arman Tumanyan has found a solution for remaining unnoticed from a conventional enemy; the sound of drones cannot be heard from 60-70 meters, “The device can fly up to 1 km high, if we control it.” Arman Tumanyan has created his device in about a month and it has passed many tests, “During the tests the main problem was connected with coordinates; the GPS doesn’t convey right coordinates, and the device cannot decide its speed and direction.” anoachu1 As his device has military significance, it isn’t excluded that Arman Tumanyan will apply to the Ministry of Defense for cooperation. “Unmanned aerial vehicles” competition is held within the frames of “Arm Robotics” Robotics Development project. “Ucom” company director Hayk Yesayan told the journalists that their company will always support such groups formed in the initial phase of Armenian military industry, “It is a new phase for our military industry, and the April events showed that we need it very much. I am very happy that we started the initiative before April war, it means that we have always understood and have tried to implement it. I think we should develop this sector, as it is future of our country and the basis of the military industry.” anoachu2 Karen Vardanyan, Chairman of Union of Information Technology Enterprises, says that this competition is directed to the society, so that the robotics develops. anoachu3
