“Nothing about us without us…” Armenia has joined this global slogan for the disability rights movement. The start of the project “Decision-making through inclusion” initiated by the Unison NGO was announced on Wednesday, June 15. The project is being implemented in Armenia, Georgia and Moldova. At the start of the conference, "Unison" NGO CEO Armen Alaverdyan stressed that the project is aimed at promoting participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes. He says there are few buildings and facilities in Armenia that provide access for disabled people but they have not been discussed or agreed upon with them. “There are pleasant exceptions and I cannot say that everything is planned and constructed without considering the opinion of persons with disabilities but we often have structures, ramps, toilets that do not correspond to the norms and requirements,” he said.
