The OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs are ready to follow the renewed commitment of Azerbaijani and Armenian Presidents who agreed to respect ceasefire in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict zone and implement the 1994 truce and 1995 truce-reinforcing agreements, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia, Richard Mills, reiterated on May 18. He added that they support the sides’ efforts and agreement to establish mechanisms to investigate ceasefire violation incidents. He considers it a positive move which shows goodwill and readiness. “I think the news we received from Vienna on Monday was very positive. I think it was a great achievement that the sides agreed resume their dialogue to find a compromise peace deal and reiterated their commitment to the 94-95 ceasefire agreement. I also welcome their agreement to meet again in June to try to revive the peace process,” he said. Richard Mills says the U.S. Government and international mediators are hopeful that the meeting will produce positive results and the resumed negotiations will lead to a comprehensive settlement of the Karabakh conflict.
