Opinion: Nation's roots are healthy, while the head is to be thrown away (video)
After the four-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh in early April, Armenia has entered a phase of fluctuations and I think that military operations will continue, management expert Harutyun Mesrobyan said on Monday. He says in the given situation Armenia's short-sighted steps can have irreversible consequences. “What did the four-day war show? It showed that nation's roots are healthy, while the head is useless and should be thrown away. It showed that the real national elite failed to establish itself in Armenia: an empty head will always lead a nation to tragedy,” Mr Mesrobyan said. The expert says more braggarts have emerged in Armenia in the recent period. “We frequently hear pompous speeches and high-flown ideas. As a rule, people saying these lofty thoughts and speaking of justice and army are those who stand close to the trough and are grant eaters,” he said. Speaking about the planned meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan, Harutyun Mesrobyan said he did not have great expectations from the meeting.
