Karabakh recognition bill receives negative opinion in Armenian Parliament
Before the start of the next four-day of the Armenian National Assembly, the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations discussed a bill submitted by opposition lawmakers Zaruhi Postanjyan and Hrant Bagratyan, which obligates Armenia's government to formally recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state. The bill received a negative opinion in the Committee, after gaining one vote in favour, one against. The other six members of the Committee did not participate in the vote. Earlier in May, Armenia's government gave the green light for parliament to vote on a bill that would recognize Nagorno-Karabakh Republic as an independent state.
