Armen Rustamyan on existence of nuclear weapons in Armenia
“Baghratyan was the country’s prime minister, he knows what he says,” Head of the ARF-Dashnaktsutyun faction Armen Rustamyan said in the National Assembly on Wednesday commenting on a statement by Hrant Bagratyan. During a press conference at the Media Centre NGO late in April, Hrant Bagratyan, a lawmaker from the Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction and former prime minister of Armenia, said ‘Armenia already has nuclear weapons.’ In reply to A1+’s observation whether the country could have had nuclear weapons for a long time, given the fact that Bagratyan served as Prime Minister from 1993 to 1996, Armen Rustamyan said, “Why not? Let us not forget that Armenia was once part of a nuclear power state.” "Nuclear weapons are already created in Armenia. I say it as a note to Azerbaijan," Hrant Bagratyan said at the Media Centre NGO on April 29.
