Prosecutor General rejects appeal to reconsider Shirkhanyan's restraint
The Prosecutor General has rejected an appeal to change the precautionary measure of Vahan Shirkhanyan, a former deputy of Defense Minister of Armenia, lawyer Stepan Voskanyan said to A1+. Vahan Shirkhanyan was arrested on December 19, 2015, on suspicion of aiding a criminal gang led by Artur Vardanyan. The lawyer has also filed an appeal to a higher court. Earlier this month, a court of first instance extended Shirkhanyan's detention for another two months.
