PACE not to discuss Karabakh issue as 'a matter of urgency'
The Political Bureau of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) decided in its April 18 sitting not to discuss any issue related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict ‘as a matter of urgency,’ head of the Armenian delegation to the PACE Hermine Baghdalyan said today. We remind that the agenda of the the Strasbourg-based structure included three issues related to Nagorno-Karabakh. On April 7, head of the French delegation René Rouquet (PS), proposed to discuss in the PACE spring session the latest escalation of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. On April 12, a similar proposal was presented by the Azerbaijani delegates who proposed a discussion on the theme "Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan.” The Armenian delegation presented its proposal on April 13 offering to start a discussion on the theme: "Serious war crimes committed by Azerbaijan during the aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh."
