Tensions continue in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone
The Defense Ministry of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic reports about 9 incidents of the current fragile ceasefire violation in the northeastern direction of the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border The Azerbaijani side fired irregular shots at Armenian positions from various caliber weapons and sniper rifles. The frontline units of the NKR Defense Army showed restraint and avoided retaliatory actions unless strictly necessary. As reported earlier, two Armenian soldiers were wounded overnight as Azerbaijani forces continued to violate the verbal ceasefire reached on April 5. According to the NKR Defense Ministry, Erik Matevosyan (born in 1991) and Azat Barsamyan (born in 1996) received gunshot wounds at positions in the northern direction of the Line of Contact.
