Azeri sabotage-reconnaissance infiltration attempt repulsed: Two Armenian soldiers wounded
The Ministry of Defense of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic reports that the situation along the Line of Contact between Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces remains the same as it was before the April 5 verbal agreement. The NKR Defense Ministry says Azerbaijan continued violating the verbal ceasefire agreement more than 50 times, continually shooting at all sections of the Line of Contact and using 82-mm mortars (3 shells) in the northeastern direction (Martakert). Two Armenian soldiers – Erik Matevosyan (born in 1991) and Azat Barsamyan (born in 1991) were wounded as a result of continued shooting by Azerbaijan in the military positions stationed in the northern sections of the Line of Contact. Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Army also reports that its forces successfully repulsed an attempt by a group of some 20 Azerbaijani commandoes in the eastern direction (Akna). The Defense Ministry says the sabotage-reconnaissance infiltration attempt took place at 01:00, but Armenian servicemen on duty timely spotted it and thwarted the action. The advanced units of the NKR Defense Army continued to confidently carry out their combat tasks and are in full control of the situation.
