German Ambassador is aware of cases of soldiers’ torture (video)
Matthias Kiesler, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Armenia, followed the four-day war on the Karabakh-Azerbaijani border, “New dynamics have come forward in terms of peaceful settlement of the conflict. But currently the most important thing is to hold the ceasefire agreement.” Why don’t Germany and other big countries give clear and targeted assessment to the events on the border, as the Azerbaijani side started them? “I don’t have well founded information on how everything happened on April 2,” said the Ambassador. But he knows what happened during the days of military operations, “Of course, we know about the recent reports by the Armenian side, which relate to the cases of torturing the bodies of dead soldiers and beheading them. The OSCE Co-chairs keep those reports in the center of attention, but currently there aren’t any mechanisms how to move forward. I personally, still cannot say anything about it.” Matthias Kiesler simply offered to wait for the conclusion of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs over the abovementioned issue.
