U.S. Ambassador to Armenia: Saroyan's writings became dear to Armenians in these tragic days (video)
“The writings of William Saroyan, an American-American dramatist and author, have become especially dear to Armenians in these tragic days,” U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Richard M. Mills said at the Central Library after A. Isahakyan during an event organized within the framework of U.S. National Library Week. “William Saroyan was optimistic and believed in kindness and goodness. He believed that life can change for the better. I think his works are especially important during the tragic events of past several days,” Richard Mills said. The U.S. diplomat added that ‘being born and raised in California, Saroyan bore Armenian values in his heart which are embroidered in his writings.’ “These are good principles and values that we all need to remember. In addition, William Saroyan was a great bridge between the peoples of Armenia and the United States. I am happy to be here and to participate in the public reading of “The Human Comedy," Richard Mills said.
