Two Armenian soldiers were killed in the region of Karvachar (formerly Kelbajar) on the night of April 6. Spokesman for the Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan confirmed the news, promising to provide more information later in the day. Clashes between Karabakh and Azerbaijani armed forces erupted in Nagorno-Karabakh early on April 2 and lasted for more than three days. After several days of fierce fighting on the Line of Contact, the sides agreed on a bilateral ceasefire that came into force on Tuesday, April 5. Earlier on Wednesday,Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said that the agreement on ceasefire was reached in Moscow April 5 after a meeting of the General Staffs of the armed forces of the conflicting parties.
