Dmitry Medvedev's visit to Armenia has not been rescheduled (video)
We have always wanted to involve the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic in the talks. The issue has always been our agenda. The clashes on the Karabakh frontline in the past several days once again stressed the importance of Karabakh’s participation in the negotiations, a deputy foreign minister of Armenia announced on April 6 after a Cabinet meeting. Shavarsh Kocharyan said this in reply to a journalist’s question why Armenian and Azerbaijani officials had met in Moscow to discuss the Karabakh issue. “We will continue to work in this direction,” Mr Kocharyan noted. Asked whether the border skirmishes will affect Serzh Sargsyan’s upcoming meetings in Berlin, the official gave a short reply, “We shall wait and see.” The deputy FM added that Armenia has not initiated the recognition of the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. At the same time, Mr Kocharyan said there had been no changes in forthcoming visit of the Russian PM and Dmitry Medvedev will arrive in Yerevan this week.
