18 Armenian soldiers killed, 35 injured in recent fighting - says Serzh Sargsyan (video)
The Armenian side has sustained 18 casualties during the recent tense fighting along the entire length of the Line of Contact with Azerbaijan. Also 35 people were wounded during the skirmishes, Serzh Sargsyan said during a meeting of the National Security Council in Yerevan earlier this evening. Sargsyan, who returned from a nuclear security summit in the U.S several hours ago, said ‘these were the largest-scale operations carried out by the Azerbaijani side since the 1994 ceasefire.' “The losses of the enemy’s air forces as well as infantry and armored vehicles are considerable,” he stressed. He added that on his return flight to Armenia he had been briefed on the situation and believed that measures taken in his absence were correct.
